Also, I totally saw Philip Seymour Hoffman at my dermatologist’s this morning. Like the suave New Yorker I am, I played it totally cool while in his immediate vicinity, then blabbed all about it as soon as he was gone.

that is FABULOUS! i’ve lived in NYC for 30 years and wouldn’t recognize a famous person if i tripped over one!
Well, as I’ve never even heard of him, much less seen a single movie he’s been in, it’s certain I wouldn’t have recognized him.
The only celebrities I’ve met have been at cons or book signings.
Did I tell you about the time that Yvonne Craig was so taken by my eyes that she asked me to lean over so she could get a better look at them, then spent thirty seconds gazing into my eyes? Batgirl likes my eyes!
Perhaps sadly, that’s the high point of my life.
