I’ve wanted to take this picture for years, probably since I moved out to Colorado. This tree is in the middle of a reservoir that’s unfortunately fenced off from any public access. A few weeks ago, though, I noticed one spot near the road that wasn’t fenced off, and I figured out a bit of a hike from a trailhead through the brush to finally get the shot I wanted. Spring in Colorado still means snow on the mountains in the distance, and (happily) a very full reservoir!
