P52: Week 10 — Get to Know Your Gear, Part 2 — What Is Normal?

This week’s techie theme related to shooting with a “normal” focal length. To quote the assignment, “What I am referring to here is the “normal” focal length, which is generally regarded as 50mm. There are a number of interpretations of why the 50mm focal length is “normal,” but for our purposes, we’ll just say that it is the focal length that allows you to see things through the camera in much the same way you would see them with your eyes.” Because I have a crop sensor camera, my 50mm prime lens actually equates to about 75mm. So, using my zoom lens and adjusting to about 35mm, this shot of Booker looks pretty much “normal” to me. And also cute.
