This week’s assignment asked us to think about our favorite thing about photography, whether in style, technique, genre, theme, or subject. “Whether you are just getting started with thoughtful, intentional photography with this project, or you you are an old hand at this and have a clear idea of your voice, you probably have a pretty good idea of what you like to photograph, and in what style.” I’ve been giving this a lot of thought lately as I dip my toes into shooting more professionally. I’ve done some seniors, some corporate work, but I keep coming back to lifestyle and family photography as my favorite style, both to shoot for money and for fun. My sweet spot: kids and dogs! And this is one of my absolutely FAVORITE kids — my son Sean, at the Colorado Irish Festival on Sunday, playing in a giant hamster ball. His natural smile just sets my heart on fire.
