P52: Week 30 — iPhoneography

I often use this P52 to help me get out of a rut, shoot deliberately to a theme, and basically do more than everyone else just snapping shots with their iPhones. Well, this week, we’re going to stretch you in a new way – not with compositional techniques or shooting styles, but with intention. This week, I want you to leave your big camera at home (at least once), and shoot deliberately, consciously, with your phone cameras.

I think back to my early photography journey, on a point-and-shoot camera with less than a third of a capabilities of my phone – heck, not just of my phone, but of the old version of the iPhone I passed down to my four-year-old! When I first upgraded to a DSLR, I was amazed by what felt like a huge jump in abilities – partly on the strength of the camera. But as we know, it’s not just about the equipment, it’s about the photographer.

So this week, I’m asking you to play within these limits – use the pocket camera we all carry with us, rather than your usual, big camera – and show me what you’ve got. Here’s mine:
