P52: Week 13 — Lines

Getting caught up after my trip to Italy! Here’s last week assignment, still studying compositional techniques, this time lines:

Lines are a powerful force in a photograph. When used well they allow us (the photographer), to direct the viewer’s gaze where we’d like it to go. Why? Because a line begins somewhere and leads somewhere, and that implies (and thereby forces) movement. Lines can be used to divide, unify, or emphasize parts of an image.

Occasionally, they can become the subject themselves.
