This week threw a wrench into my careful plans, as I started it in the hospital with acute pancreatitis, and had surgery on Monday to remove my gallbladder, then spend most of the week on some delightful pain medicine lounging on my couch! So I skipped getting in front of the camera this week, and instead snapped this shot of two of my kiddos cuddling on the kitchen floor, as you do.
Indoor light is the bane of my existence — white balancing for it, exposing for it, adjusting. This shot had some great natural sunlight coming in on the left side of the image, so it wasn’t too bad, but this same shot at other times of the day could be a nightmare! It doesn’t help that we have so many different kinds of lightbulbs in our house — white LEDs, soft light incandescents, even a few florescents. I almost never use my on-camera flash, though I’ve played with a few different ways of reflecting it around me. I might treat myself sometime this year with an off camera flash system and a class. Fingers crossed!
