Assignment:
Last week we looked to art to inspire our photography. This week I am challenging us to transform our photography to more closely resemble or incorporate another art form. Inspired by the stunning work of our very own @MargyB (she doesn’t know! Surprise!) I wanted to see how we can transform our images using textures, layers, presets, plug-ins, or other software create new effects to our images.
This edit can mean drastically altering our images, or just editing it in a way that is very different from your usual. For some of you, this may not be your style. Pretend you are a teen who just got their first phone and likes using all of the presets! Try it once – you never know when having the skill might come in handy. And, some of the effects out there are good for a laugh. One tip, faces are usually very hard to do this with. If this is your first try, you might want to use a landscape, macro, or still life image as a base.
I’m getting a known bug in trying to use the Oil Paint filter in Photoshop, which is annoying, but it gave me a chance to play some with the app Prisma on my phone. This is my son up in Breckenridge this past weekend:
