On our journey moving from Colorado to Canada!
We’re one week out from locking our door behind us, closing the garage, and moving all of our earthly possessions from Colorado to Canada. We’ve made our home here in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains for over two decades, and it’s no small feat to pack everything and move, but we’re excited to find out new community on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.

For those who perhaps stumbled on this page without knowing who the heck we are, how about a few introductions? I’m Kate, your intrepid leader, photographer, and mom. I work full time as a literary agent, and will continue to do so for my US-based company as we head north. My partner in chaos is Doyce, who’s embarking on a mid-life career switcheroo from corporate training to teaching, and will be getting his teaching certification at Vancouver Island University. Our oldest, Kaylee, is about to begin her fourth year at the University of Victoria, and it was trips up to move her in or out of campus, and visits, that helped us fall in love with the Pacific Northwest. Next up is our son Sean, who’ll be starting Grade 10 in the fall — he’s 15, funny and smart as hell, runs, plays volleyball and video games, and rudely is already much taller than me. Our daughter Zoe is nearly 13 and will be starting Grade 8, or secondary school shortly. She’s a fashionista and drama queen, with a love of manga, anime, and all things kawaii. And of course there’s Doc, our two-year-old Jack Russell terrier, who’s looking forward to becoming a beach dog.

We look forward to sharing our journey, with all the bumps, road blocks, adventures and revelations that entails, with you!
