Whidbey Island Vacation Pics: Day Twelve

Our last full day on Whidbey! I sent Doyce off to school with the car this morning, so the kids and I could take it easy and not worry about going anywhere right away. If hoped to get to the nearby Admirals Cove pool, but unfortunately, it didn't open until 12:30. (And unearthing that information also revealed the dirty underbelly of community politics in the neighborhood.)

Instead, we walked down to the playground and poked around on the beach (some of us in our fancy new dragon wings), then had lunch and took naps.

Doyce only had a half day of classes, so once he got home and the littles woke up, we went down to Double Bluff Beach and enjoyed an awesome couple of hours as the tide came in: tossing sticks for Booker in the surf, collecting shells, and rising massive floating driftwood logs.

All in all, a lovely end to our Whidbey adventure. Tomorrow, we pile back in the car for the long trip home!
